21st Century Assessment

21st Century Assessment

A great deal of conversation and attention has been given to the need for students to develop 21st Century Skills. Your students' skills and knowledge must match or exceed those of students not just in your community, the state or the nation, but those of students around the globe.

The 21st Century global economy is knowledge and technology-based, which means that students must master higher-order thinking skills.

It's not enough to be able to recall information. Students must be able to analyze, compare, infer and evaluate as they solve real-world problems.

Multiple-choice and short-answer tests and quizzes tend to only require recall or regurgitation of facts, which, once recalled for the test are often forgotten immediately after.
