At the end of the first year, students are no longer categorized into two groups based on their post-test score. They will either be NO LONGER basic skills deficient—therefore finished with the program—or STILL basic skills deficient, continuing in the program.
Students who are STILL basic skills deficient will continue their remediation plan for a 2nd and possibly 3rd year, if needed. Students are given a post-test prior to the end of each year of participation to measure their basic skills.
