Index Cards and Paper Plates

Response Cards—Providing each student with sets of colored index cards labeled A, B, C, D with each letter on a different colored card allows you to pose a multiple choice question to the entire class and get a quick visual check on how many respond correctly.

By seeing the level of understanding, you can then move on with further instruction, reteach the content in a different way, or reinforce the key information to make sure that the class more fully understands the material.

Interlocking Paper Plates—Using two different colored paper plates, you can create a pie chart response device for students to indicate their levels of understanding or agreement with a question posed to them.
