Overhead Projectors

The overhead projector dates back to World War II, and it has not changed much since. Still, sometimes it has its uses. Here are a few well-worn tips:

  • Keep it Clean! These things get hot, and dust can be a problem. Talk to your media specialist or librarian for maintenance.
  • Know how to copy masters If you don't have a clue, ask the office staff. And DO NOT run transparency paper through a laser printer!
  • Use color As with whiteboards, the world is more than just black and white.
  • Get creative Use the projector for silhouette cutouts to tell a story, or have students create one.
