Copy Machines

Copy Machines

Although the copy machine has been a standard piece of office equipment for decades, it remains an essential tool for the modern classroom. Here are a few tips for using copy machines in the school environment:

  • Choose your machine wisely Many schools have more than one copier, so be aware of any copying restrictions. For example, if you make more than 25 copies, your school may want you to use a copier that can mass produce copies more efficiently.
  • Plan ahead Do not count on the copy machine being available right before class. Some schools have an individual who will make copies for you with advanced notice. And at some schools larger jobs must go through a central office, which may take a while. Ask about what services are available.
  • Learn to use special features In addition to stapling and collating, most modern copy machines can do some amazing things. Learn to use the special features, such as printing directly to the machine, or using the copy machine to scan something and email it to you. Typically, the office staff will be happy to help you learn how to use these features.
