LCD Projectors

LCD Projectors

Today's classroom has many technology-oriented tools. Learn how to integrate these tools into your classroom.

Computer or LCD projectors are common in both businesses and today's classrooms. Whether you check one out from your library or have one permanently in your room, an LCD projector will allow you to display content from computers and most tablets and iPads. Feel free to replace your TV and hook up a DVD, VCR, or other video source to use the big screen.

When using an LCD projector in a classroom setting, consider these tips:

  • If it stays in your classroom, mount it! This will allow you to get the projector and cart out of the way, keeping it from obstructing the middle of the room.
  • Have the option to project it on to a whiteboard in addition to a screen. Sometimes it is nice to be able to draw on the electronic content projected on to your whiteboard. This does cause some glare, so it is nice to be able to pull down a screen in front of the whiteboard.
  • Don't forget the speakers! Audio from your computer and DVD/VCR or other source is just as important as video.
